Black History Fact of the Day : Leandra Abbott
yoshiimini:
Leandra Abbott started her journalism career as the first black female on staff at Cosmopolitan Magazine in 1967. Soon thereafter, Abbott found herself working at Newsweek, where she was charged with reporting on civil rights issues. Noting that, as an African American, she, “had the unspoken or spoken responsibility…. to make sure stories represented African Americans accurately.”...

electrostaticlove:
My friend Keith over at The Nynth Life thought I’d find this interesting and, apparently, he knows me too well. British Vogue set up Solange Knowles with her own daily photo blog and one thing’s certain: this girl is a rising fashion icon. Now, don’t get me wrong; I think it’s important to tread carefully with the term [icon], but it’s clear to see that she’s an [it-girl] on...

Movie of the Month: Kinyarwanda (2011)
I’m really lucky to have amazing friends and family that think about me and hit me up with they think something might interest me. (kudos kudos kudos!!)
